Introduction

At CORTMA, we value the privacy and security of your Personal Data. Whenever you use any of CORTMA’s websites or applications (www.cortma.net and the apps for mobile devices, phones or tablets on iOS, Android and Windows Phone – collectively known as CORTMA), you confirm that you have read and accepted this document, which we will refer to as “Privacy Policy" for simplicity. Sometimes, we ask you to consent to our “Privacy Policy" at certain places on our website, such as the Personal Data collection points.

In this document, we will explain in detail the types, methods and reasons for collecting your data, how we use it, how we protect it and what your rights are.

1. How We Collect Your Data

We only collect your data after you have given us your written consent. CORTMA does not share your data with any third parties.

The places where we collect your data are:

  • When you sign up as our users or customers to access our free or paid services.
  • When you subscribe to our newsletters.
  • When you call our call center to place an ad on the CORTMA ad portal.
  • When you contact our support team (support@cortma.net or our call center) for help.

2. What Data You Share With Us

  • As per our terms of use, we require you to provide us with an email address, which must be verified, when you register with us.
  • If you want to post an ad, we will also ask you for a contact phone number, which must be validated to confirm your ownership. C.O.R.T.M.A., if you want to post an ad for selling your business, can collect data/information about your business, such as the full name and trade name of the company, legal form, activity sector (Activity Code Number /V.A.T.), revenue of the last fiscal year, number of employees, company age, A.F.M. & D.O.Y., G.E.M.I. number, headquarters details (Address, Number, ZIP Code, City, Contact numbers, email) and legal representative details.
  • You can request the removal of you and your business data anytime.
  • You can optionally share information about your name, age, gender, occupation, and the area where you live, which we use to show you personalized C.O.R.T.M.A. updates and offers from us and our partners that may interest you. You can request the removal of your data at any time.
  • Your age will also be requested when you access content which is for adults only. To use some map services, we will ask you to enable your location service and have information about your current location. You can revoke your consent at any time.
  • Finally, you can link your Google or Facebook account with us if you prefer. Besides the email address you have on the Google or Facebook platforms, which we receive and use to create your account in our systems, we do not collect any other information from your Google or Facebook account. Moreover, you will be asked for confirmation from the Google or Facebook platforms for this action. Thus, you can easily use any of your accounts to log in to www.cortma.net.

3. How We Handle Your Data

  • We communicate with you through automated messages about your account matters (e.g. if your ad expires, a password reset reminder, etc.). You will receive these messages if you have an active account with us. They are essential for the smooth operation of our systems and cannot be turned off.
  • We send you informative messages by email and SMS with deals from CORTMA and our partners.
  • We also send you our updates or topics that may interest you. You can opt out of receiving these messages at any time.
  • We send you notifications that you have enabled yourself that relate to searches you have saved that match your preferences. The data we keep about your saved searches are your chosen filters. You can delete them, modify the frequency or stop them anytime.
  • We send you informational messages about the live online events (Workshops, Webinars, Tutorials, Q&A) that CORTMA organizes to showcase the certified businesses for sale that it has in its portfolio.

4. What Other Data We Store About Your Account

Saved Searches, Notes and Saved Listings:

We store your saved searches, favorite or hidden ads, and personal notes. All data linked to your account is only visible to you and only when you are logged in. You can modify them or delete them permanently.

Questionnaires

We may invite you to complete questionnaires to enhance our services. This is optional.

Transactions

We keep your transaction history as required by the current law.

Support

We keep a record of the support we provide you via support@cortma.net. The platform we use is WordPress.

  • Our goal is to serve you better, as we fully understand the issue you are facing whenever you contact us.
  • We look for common issues among users/customers for the most efficient and quick resolution.
  • We update the database of questions and answers that help other users with similar issues.
Device/Connection Details

We can access information such as your IP, the software you use, your connection device, and the navigation path you follow on our websites or our applications. We use various technologies, such as small cookie files or third-party platforms, to achieve this. These third-party platforms include, but are not limited to, WordPress, Google, hotjar, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

We use this information to:
  • To improve our services, design the best navigation experience according to your usage needs.
  • To show you relevant ads from CORTMA and its partners that match your usage needs.

5. What Data You Choose to Display on CORTMA and Partner Websites (e.g. mactur.eu, mactur.gr)

  • The content of your ad.
  • The contact details (phone and email) you provide with your published ad (if you opt for it). These details must be verified to confirm your ownership.
  • The Activity Code (KAD) of the business for sale will be attached to your ad on the CORTMA Ads Portal and used only for classifying your ad.
  • The above data is published on the website and mobile apps of CORTMA and, if you select, on the partner websites of the mactur.eu network, mactur.gr. You can choose which media will display your data and request their removal at any time.

7. Account Notifications

CORTMA sends you messages that are only related to your account. These messages may include sending you a login code to CORTMA’s services, notifying you about the expiration of a subscription, and so on. You can only stop receiving these messages by deactivating or deleting your account.

8. Alerts

CORTMA will send you messages that match your search criteria as you set them. You can opt out of receiving these messages one by one or all at once. You can do so by clicking on the Unsubscribe link and following the steps in the message. Opting out of alerts does not affect marketing messages or account notifications (see condition 9).

9. Marketing Messages/Updates

CORTMA values your privacy and will only send messages relevant to your interests. These messages may include offers, news, and updates from CORTMA and its trusted partners, who will not have access to your data. You can choose to opt out of these messages at any time.

  • To opt out, click on the Unsubscribe link and follow the instructions in the message. Please note that this will not affect the essential messages related to your account or the notifications you have opted to receive (see condition 8).

10. Advertising

CORTMA’s media displays advertising banners from our partner advertising networks (e.g. Google). These banners are based on information that we collect from your browser, using small cookie files, when you visit cortma.net.gr. This information may include, for example, the sections you visited, some of your previous searches, etc.

11. Retention of Information

Your information is stored in our database as long as your account is active and you need our services. However, some information linked to your account, such as phone numbers or e-mails, may remain in our database even after you delete them for security or legal reasons. To erase these details from your account, please get in touch with mailto:support@cortma.net.

12. Where We Store Your Data

We use secure computing environments to store your data, following the latest security standards. We do not store any credit card information in any way.

13. Processing

CORTMA may use information associated with your account (e.g., advertisements) that does not reveal or expose your identity for statistical, research or advertising purposes. After being anonymized by the individuals, the data may also be processed by third parties for the same purposes.

14. Security

CORTMA is committed to storing, maintaining and protecting your Data by all legal Security procedures required by Law 2472/1997 and Law 3471/2006, as well as the new European General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and Directive 95/46/ EC on protecting Personal Data.

CORTMA also ensures its partners respect and use your data correctly and agrees not to keep or process them after you ask to delete them unless the law says otherwise.

15. Your Rights

  • You have the right to know what data we have about you.
  • You can request a copy of your data by emailing us at: support@cortma.net.
  • You can update or correct your data by logging in to the link (link) of my account or emailing us at: support@cortma.net.
  • You can ask us to delete your data by emailing us at: support@cortma.net. However, we may need to keep some of your data for a certain period to comply with our legal obligations or contractual terms.
  • You can opt out of receiving updates by logging in to the link (link) > My account > Communication settings or emailing us at: support@cortma.net.

16. Revisions

CORTMA may change this at any time without notice. If there are any changes, we will update this statement’s date. The new Data Policy will apply from that date. We suggest that you check this statement often to stay informed. This statement was last updated on 5/25/2020.
